The Sunday Times published this jaw-dropping revelation about the third Bridget Jones novel just this weekend. Turns out, it's set 15 years after the second novel left off, with Bridget entering her 50s as a widow with two children. It seems that Bridget's love (and our major crush of the '90s) has been dead for five years. Words fail us.
While weight watching and cigarette chomping might be a thing of the past for our beloved heroine, in this chapter of her life, she's plagued by wrinkles and a lack of twitter followers. There is also the mention of a new love interest in the form of a 30-year-old man called Roxter.

It seems that fans haven't taken too kindly to the news of the novel's plot details, with one fan tweeting: "Not sure if I want to read the 3rd book now!"
