The New 49ers Stadium Is Getting The Levi’s Treatment

By now you’ve probably heard the buzz surrounding the $1.2 billion-dollar sports arena being built in Santa Clara, promising to be nothing short of a palatial coliseum for our beloved San Francisco 49ers. While the shiny-new stadium has yet to be constructed, it already has a snazzy name that, honestly, will please both sports and fashion fans alike.
What’s been dubbed “the field of jeans,” — the stadium has signed on San Francisco-based denim powerhouse Levi’s Strauss to be the official naming sponsor. According to the Daily News, a $200-million, 20-year deal that was announced yesterday really seems to be a perfect fit, especially since Levi’s made jeans for actual 49ers during the Gold Rush era. Full circle, people! We're pretty jazzed — though we're also hoping for some signature Levi’s touches to the stadium (jean bar to go along with that beer, anyone?). We guess sports and fashion do play nice, after all. (Daily News)
