Home Sweet Home: Sally Singer's Return To Vogue

Here's an interesting nugget: Former T Magazine editor-in-chief Sally Singer is making her comeback to Vogue, where she served as the fashion and features news director prior to her time at The New York Times Company-owned mag. Though Singer labored at T for two years, she called it quits this past August, giving her the opportunity to return to the Condé Nast fashion glossy (and have Deborah Needleman take her place).
Singer's time at T is said to have been a rough one, and pressure from the advertising department may have motivated her departure. Even so, Singer's former executive editor, Jill Abramson, wrote in a staff memo: "Sally’s contributions are clear to anyone who’s read the magazine during her tenure. Gorgeous visuals, interesting stories, and enterprising features — both in print and online — have been hallmarks of her stewardship."
The online finesse Abramson spoke of will now be used in Singer's position as Vogue's digital creative director beginning October 29. It must be a pretty powerful feeling to have Anna Wintour want you back. (WWD)
