Ah, the struggle of a tween: staying unique while trying to fit in, finding your voice and being "the" voice of your contemporaries. Leave it up to Willow Smith to articulate the "vulnerability" of being "free" and young and in the public eye, and of being, well, Willow Smith. In her latest music video, "I Am Me" she takes it to the NYC streets (mainly that cool graffiti wall on Houston and Bowery) and wails heartfelt lyrics like, "I'm free and you can't stop me," "days pass, trying to find who I really am," "people don't like the way I dress," and "your validation is just not that important to me." Although, it's validation of some sort (at least in the number of views this video's getting) that she's gaining with this soulful number. Watch below as she belts it out in Washington Square Park, the High Line, and that median strip of concrete across from the Houston Street Whole Foods. Then, tell us what do you think.
