Your June Horoscope, Revealed

Illustrated by Abbie Winters.
And just like that, the year is halfway finished as we enter the busy month of June. We’re picking up the pace as we wrap up Gemini season — the last sign of the springtime — before heading into the wild energies of summer. Prepare to take action and expect to be fueled by your passion and emotions as the planets spin back and forth over your head.
If you're feeling breathless, emotional, or plain old fired up, that's how the planets want you to feel. We begin the month with a tight grand trine between Neptune, Jupiter, and Venus that fills us with dreamy aspirations of love, compassion, and even a bit of delusion. Try not to get carried away on a dream and a song as everything isn't as it seems — especially when Neptune is involved. Sometimes things are, indeed, too good to be true and spending a little too much time in Lala Land can take us off course altogether. We have to be wary of misconceptions and lies this month as Neptune clouds our vision with its smoke and mirrors.

We'll get a chance to retrace our steps when Mars begins his retrograde journey on June 27 until August 27, turning our outward drive, ambition, and anger inward to be reviewed. Know that Mars can be a bit unusual in his mannerisms when he's in Aquarius. Chances are high that the world will be a little bit weirder over the next few weeks. The key this month is to stay true yourself. Don't forget what makes you shine and the role you get to play in others' lives. It’s a highly reactive month. Just keep your wits about you and you should do just fine. Sound confusing? Well, welcome to the month of June!

Gemini
May 21 to June 20

Oh, Gemini, you've got to get it together, love. The month of June presents you with a unique set of challenges, especially when it comes to being true to who you are. It's not that you’re a liar, but your sense of reality might be skewed. Neptune is to blame for this nebulous tinge to your perception as he hits upon your sun and your ruling planet, Mercury. Be mindful of how you present yourself and your thoughts between June 5 and June 6, as a lack of honesty will get you in trouble and even hurt your reputation.

But Neptune doesn’t have to be all bad. He can also spark inspiration and intuitive insights about your life’s bigger picture and purpose. If you’ve been feeling lost and rootless, quiet your mind and listen to what your heart is asking from you. Meditation, writing, music, dance, or any other activity that allows you to tap into your right brain will be helpful during this period. Use what you discover to direct your new moon intention-setting when it lands in your house of self on June 13. This is the beginning of a new year for you, Gemini, so make it a good one. Try not to follow your misbehaving Twins into the abyss of deceit. Mars going retrograde on June 27 until August 27 will help you review how you take action on your beliefs. This backspin may even prompt you to reconsider where your passions lie — maybe they could use a once-over or an additional boost of energy. How things play out is all up to you, Gemini. Choose wisely.

Cancer
June 21 to July 22

June demands that you firm up, Cancer. The first half of the month will move you to meditate on how your insecurities and fears get the better of you and, subsequently, block your blessings. Unfortunately, growth demands that you leave the comfort and safety of your shell — even when life feels particularly confusing and chaotic. It all boils down to trusting that everything will work out exactly when it’s supposed to, Crab. You’re being pushed to have faith in the unseen forces that run things without your meddling. (Sorry, no amount of worrying is going to change the outcome, so you might as well stop now.) Instead of fretting, use the first two weeks leading up to the new moon on the 13th to get clear about what’s really making you fearfully spin your wheels.

Mercury moving into your sign on the 12th will encourage you to speak up for yourself and your needs, which will come in handy as the month unfolds. It's time to stand your ground and take responsibility for yourself and your emotions in your partnerships. Until then, pamper yourself, be kind, and quit that awful habit of imagining the worst possible outcomes. Venus moves into your house of money and self-worth on the 13th, encouraging you to spend a little extra on yourself, because, yes, you deserve it. As your birthday season commences on June 21, you’ll notice some friction between you and your intimate partners around values, money, and shared resources. You may want to hold off on making any major investments or broaching conversations on touchy subjects while Mars is retrograde in your house of intimacy and shared resources. That means waiting until late August or September. With a little faith and dash of patience, you’ll know who and what to put your energy behind. Keep calm and carry on, Cancer.

Leo
July 23 to August 22

June will see you wondering where it is that you belong and who are your people, Leo. With Uranus in your career and reputation sector demanding a more altruistic use of your talents, you may feel compelled to change your reputation. However, in order to do that, you need to broaden your circle of support to include friends and associates who share your vision for the future. During the new moon on the 13th, seek out friends and organizations that help you thrive. Imagine your kingdom being filled with lords, ladies, and court jesters who are on board with your leadership goals and actually want to support you.

Mars hanging out in your house of partnership will either push you to be more direct with others or to meet new, inspiring characters who push your buttons and demand that you do more than just look cute in your crown. Try not to get too touchy when your partners poke holes in your grand plans. Instead, say thank you and see if you can incorporate their perspective into the fold. Be a benevolent and fair leader, Leo. Do your best to keep your ego in check.

Around the same time, Venus will be moving into your house of self. If you’ve been meaning to make an impression on a potential bae or persuade friends to see your side of an issue, you’ll be in luck with the goddess of beauty and wealth on your side. On the 21st, the sun will move into Cancer and urge you to recharge your batteries before your solar season (and a wild summer) commences. Take some quiet time for yourself to dream up the next steps for your life's adventure. Make sure it’s a vision that tugs at your heartstrings, though, as that emotional energy will keep you moving when the going gets tough down the road.

Virgo
August 23 to September 22

June is a month of creative culmination for you, Virgo. Your hard work is being seen and recognized, so give yourself a pat on the back for sticking it out and having faith in your talents. The new moon on the 13th will encourage you to set intentions around the type of reputation you want to establish for yourself. Make a short list of what you’d like to be recognized for and then make tentative plans to make it happen.

Mars has been prodding you to stay busy in your house of health and routines as you work to make your creative pursuits tangible and useful for others. You may notice a slowdown as his retrograde starts on the 27th, but that doesn't have to be a negative thing. After all, you’ve been charging forward steadily for months. Use this down time to take extra care of yourself and keep your pent-up energy from burning you out at a later time.

Mercury and the sun move into your house of friendship on the 12th and 21st, inviting you to network at career-related events, but also to enjoy the company of those who share your interests. Take a breather, Virgo. Remember this is supposed to be fun, too. The full moon on the 28th will inspire you to tie up loose ends with your creative projects and illuminate how you can take your work to the next level. If all that you do comes from a place of love, you can’t go wrong. Keep it going, Virgo.

Libra
September 23 to October 22

It’s a month of learning and applying that knowledge, Libra. Think about the big picture as the heavens urge you to adopt new ideas and concepts that may come in handy for your career. If you haven’t already, you could find yourself starting a new class or hobby around the 13th, as the new moon activates your house of higher education and expansion. Any opportunities that introduce different viewpoints, enhance your skill set, or allow you to travel will be highlighted. What you learn can have a great effect on your creativity — and even spur you to revisit past projects you may have abandoned because of lack of inspiration.

Mars in your house of creativity has been pushing you to dabble in recreational activities just for the hell of it, but pay attention to what you come up with during his retrograde period starting on the 27th. Inclinations to get back into old hobbies may come up and old flames may come a-calling. Know that you’re under no obligation to commit to anything, but it can’t hurt to review who and what comes back into the fold until Mars goes direct on August 27th.

The full moon on the 28th will bring your attention to your career and reputation. Have you been able to balance your ambitions with your beliefs? Know that you can put an end to patterns that keep you from creating the fun and successful life that you want for yourself, Libra. You can have it all if you give yourself the room to grow beyond your own expectations.

Scorpio
October 23 to November 21

June allows you to track your progress toward becoming an authority on what you know and what you teach, Scorpio. The projects you began back in December, with Saturn in Capricorn, will need a review as you wrap them up during the full moon on the 28th. Take stock of what you’ve learned and what you’ve imparted to others. Which parts of this story can you end and which need another chapter or two?

The new moon on the 13th will ask you to be true to your passions and commit to mastering them. Keep doing the grunt work, Scorp, it’s paying off. Mars will enjoy an extended stay in your house of home and familial roots when he turns retrograde on the 27th, giving you two months to get clear on how your history plays a part in the life you’re trying to create. Old memories might be awoken and a bit of anger could arise. Pay attention to what comes up. It could give you clues about how to transform painful past experiences into lessons that can heal yourself and others — and possibly propel your career.

Sagittarius
November 22 to December 21

June reminds you that you’re not alone in the world, Sagittarius. It might feel like you're the only one schlepping to get your creative projects off the ground on a daily basis, but you’ve got company. Move over in your little rowboat and allow others to join you for the ride.

The new moon on the 13th will ask you to consult new, exciting partners who will offer you another perspective. These wise characters might come in the form of interested friends who like your style or even lovers who just want to hold your hand through it all. We get it, Archer — you’re wildly independent and like to do your own thing. But you don’t have to go it alone just to prove yourself to the world. You’re a child of Jupiter, so you tend to put way too much on your plate without realizing that you’re completely overloaded. Mixing and partnering with others will remind you that there are many ways to get what you want and plenty of people willing to pitch in to help.

Mercury entering your house of intimacy on the 12th will help you vent your underlying fears. This visit may also give you clarity about what you need to let go of in order to feel less burdened by a sense of guilt and responsibility. On the 21st, the sun moves int0 Cancer and joins Mercury in shining a light on your passions and fears. Sit with them and discuss them with the people you trust. By the full moon on the 28th, you’ll be ready to leave the heaviness behind and commit to practical ways to accomplish your goals that don’t leave you feeling isolated, overwhelmed, and overburdened. Lighten up, Sag. You’re doing better than you think.

Capricorn
December 22 to January 19

After letting your hair down during Taurus season, you may need to reacquaint yourself with your old routine, Cap. Having fun is good for you, but, like anything else, too much of a good thing can easily turn bad. So, if you’ve been overindulging in the sweet life or staying up way past your bedtime too many nights in a row, be sure to commit to a new health regimen when the new moon on the 13th arrives in your house of health and daily routines.

Expect to see old and new partners who want to connect with you when Mercury and the sun enter your house of partnership on the 12th and the 21st, respectively. If you’re already partnered up, your love may be extra attentive and want to chat you up more than usual. If you’re currently riding solo, stay open to a little flirtation. It can’t hurt and you never know where it may lead.

Venus moving into your house of intimacy on the 13th could kick off a love that wants to shower you with affection. If you’re already committed, watch for signals that point to merging your resources (moving in together or sharing bank accounts). If that seems a little too sudden and close to comfort, don’t worry — you’ll have time to decide. Mars retrograde in your house of values and money will make you think twice about how you use your assets and whether or not you’re ready for any commitments.

Aquarius
January 20 to February 18

Just when you thought you were ready to go, the heavens decide to slam on the breaks once again, Aquarius. It's alright, look it this way: All these pauses are giving you ample time to get your act together and let go of your not-so-great habits. June starts off with your house of creativity hosting the sun and Mercury. These two celestial bodies work in tandem to push you to cultivate your art. And “art” is whatever you create or manifest from your heart, Water Bearer. What do you want to share that could bring a bit of joy to this weary world? What you create may manifest as a creative collaboration — or even a romantic fling — as the new moon energizes your passion and Venus moves into your house of partnership around June 13.

After months of rattling around in your subconscious and dredging up hidden anger, Mars turns retrograde on the 27th. Now, he'll turn his pushy energy inward. You might be understandably frustrated (and potentially angry) at this turn of events, since Mars retrogrades often see our energies being drained and our ambitions falling flat. You may want to hold off on launching any major projects until after August 27 when Mars turns direct. Until then, watch how you pursue your desires and whether you can commit more fully to expressing your radical passions. Mars’ natural vitality is also lowered during this time, so beware of burning yourself out. Pace yourself, Water Bearer. There is light at the end of this long tunnel.

Pisces
February 19 to March 20

Let’s reconfigure your mind a bit this month, Pisces. You may need to spend some time alone to get a clear idea of what you want to do next. You’re coming to the halfway point of the work you began back in December, when Saturn asked you to take your hopes and wishes more seriously. What have you done so far to make good on that request? Do your long-term goals need some new imagining? Do you even like the groups of friends that you’ve been surrounding yourself with or is it time to branch out and start your own thing?

Pay attention to your dreams during the next few weeks as Mars sets up camp in your house of the unconscious, then turns backwards on the 27th. This backspin might be the thing that gives you a better idea of your underlying desires. Keep a journal close to your bed as dreams and intuition tend to fire up when Mars makes his rounds. The new moon on the 13th will encourage you to stick closer to home and determine what’s really driving you to succeed. Clean up your space — make your home a refuge where you can meditate on what you want to achieve next.

Don’t worry, Pisces, when Mercury and the sun move into Cancer on the 12th and 21st, respectively, you’ll feel up to playing, flirting, and interacting creatively with your environment again. Only now you'll get to do it with a better idea of who you want to be in your circle. Pay attention to what projects and friendships begin or end around the full moon on the 28th, as those changes will give you clues as to what you should pour your energy into next. Trust me, we could all benefit from whatever crazy idea you come up with next — that’s how talented and intuitive you are, Pisces. Don’t leave us hanging.

Aries
March 21 to April 19

It’s a good time to debrief and decompress, Aries. June will urge you to reflect on your thought patterns and ideas. And you may even feel a sudden desire to stay closer to home after spending the first half of the year working on your career and relationships. Keep a journal of all the random bits and pieces of insight that start to come through as Gemini season stimulates your curiosity. Invite you close friends over and consider taking a break from the wider world (that includes the internet!) just to get your bearings again.

Sometimes we disconnect from our own creativity when we pay too much attention to the thoughts and opinions of others. Venus moving into your house of creativity and romance on the 13th will encourage you to love up on your inner creator. By falling in love with your own energy once again, you'll feel more free to indulge in things just for fun instead of charging ahead to achieve your many goals.

If you find yourself feeling restless and agitated, it’s likely because you’ve been burning the candle at both ends without taking a break. The heavens will call on you to put your feet up as Mercury and the sun move into your house of home and family on the 12th and 21st, respectively. It’s good to take breaks, Aries, so don’t worry about missing out on anything. Time spent recharging will help you return to the world feeling refreshed — just in time for the full moon on the 28th. This lunar event will help you find a better balance between your public, worldly aspirations and the restorative privacy of your home. Even warriors have to take a rest at times, Ram. Take care of yourself now so you can spring into action when the time comes.

Taurus
April 20 to May 20

June will pull your attention to the main structures of your life, Taurus. Who are you becoming, now that Uranus is shaking the table in your house of self? What are you motivated to achieve with Mars leading the charge in your career and reputation? What memories and familial patterns will you come to cherish when Venus moves into your home sector on June 13 alongside the new moon? Finding a balance between yourself, what you’re driven to do, and what you need to feel can be tricky. These different aspects of yourself are known to clash when they fight for your energy.

Use the new moon to reconsider what’s of value to you and what you want to see grow over the next month. The new moon can bring greater clarity to the role money plays in your life: Maybe you could be making more of it — or you might be able to invest what you have into more meaningful causes. If it makes you feel more secure and centered in who you are, invest your energy into it.

Since the middle of May, you’ve been asserting yourself at work and tapping into your drive to achieve your goals. However, with Mars turning retrograde on the 27th, your energy and focus may take a dip. You may feel compelled to reevaluate your course of action altogether. Is what you’re pushing for really a reflection of how you want to represent yourself? When you find yourself losing sight of your big picture, it’s a good idea to go home and recenter yourself. The love you find there will help you reclaim your passion, even when it seems like the wind has gone from your sails.
