9 Lipsticks Celebs Actually Wear On The Red Carpet

I'm that friend who somehow always has what you need in my bag. A piece of gum, a Band-Aid, a nail file? Check, check, check. But most importantly, at any given moment, I have enough lipsticks on my person to create any possible look. Hot pink, dark burgundy, classic red, the perfect nude...they're all there. But despite the fact that I already own every shade I could ever need, I can never resist another shiny new tube. After all, I tell myself, they're all slightly different.

Never is the urge to add to my collection stronger than when I see a celebrity wearing an awesome color on the red carpet. If an A-lister thought a lipstick was good enough for the Oscars, it's got to be a superstar product, right? So, I did a little digging and rounded up nine lipsticks that celebs rely on for their most glamorous events. Check 'em out ahead, and get ready to shell out.

Ashley Benson
We couldn't get enough of the Pretty Little Liars twist on the metallic smoky eye, which she paired with the perfect nude lip at this year's Teen Choice Awards.

Makeup artist Molly R. Stern used this creamy nude lipstick to let the eyes take the spotlight. The best part is that adding it to your makeup kit won't cost you more than a fiver.

Lupita Nyong'o
A hint of navy blue on the eyes and a metallic brown lip might sound like a curious pairing, but Lupita Nyong'o proves that it's actually a winning combo.

Her makeup artist used Lancôme's L'Absolu Rouge Lipstick in Sienna Ultime on the Oscar winner's lips. This created a beautiful three-dimensional effect thanks to the teeny-tiny flecks of shimmer in the formula.

Lancôme L'Absolu Rouge Lipstick in Sienna Ultime, $30.50, available at Lancôme.

Karen Fukuhara
The Suicide Squad's karate-trained breakout star, Karen Fukuhara, matched her makeup to her dress for the premiere of the film.

As much as we love the silvery-lilac tones on Fukuhara's lids, the nude lipstick she's wearing really pulls it all together. What is this shade, you ask? According to Fukuhara's makeup artist, Mai Quynh, it's this rich, semi-matte beige shade.

Tom Ford Lip Color in Sable Smoke, $53, available at Tom Ford.

After blending an assortment of neutral eyeshadows across Collins's lids, makeup artist Molly R. Stern put on the final touch: Lancôme's Color Design Lipstick in Pale Lips.

Lily Aldridge
At this year's Met Gala, Aldridge went all out with her makeup: We're talking gilded brows and ’90s-inspired brown lipstick, expertly applied by makeup artist Quinn Murphy.

Murphy used YSL's Rouge Pur Couture Golden Lustre Lip Color on the model, but unfortunately the gorgeous shade has been discontinued. Good news: YSL's Satin Radiance lipstick in Beige Etrusque will give you almost the exact same pout.

Aubrey Plaza
How refreshing — and dare we say, sweet — is Aubrey Plaza's makeup at the premiere of Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates? Pink, please!

The lippie responsible for Aubrey Plaza's shimmery pout is Sisley's Phyto-Lip Twist in Nude, according to her makeup artist, Mai Quynh.

Gabrielle Union
It's pretty obvious we're all about brown lipstick these days. That's why we love this look that Gabrielle Union sported at this year's AmFar Inspiration Gala.

Rather than using a lipstick, though, makeup artist Mario Dedivanovic filled in the lips fully with OCC's Lip Pencil in Sybil.
