Even if you don’t know Victoria Bergsman’s name, you’ll surely recognize her voice from guest vocal spots on Peter Bjorn and John’s ubiquitous indie smash “Young Folks" or Swedish pop duo Korallreven’s “As Young As Yesterday,” which we featured here late last year. Soon, Bergsman will be releasing her third studio album under her Taken by Trees moniker, Other Worlds, a project responsible for some of the more beautiful pop songs in the last few years. Her new single “Dreams” doesn’t do much to change her dream-pop formula but adds a tropical buoyancy to her already light-as-air vocals. Supposedly inspired by a recent R&R stint in Hawaii, Bergsman herself says, “In the past, I always feared that calm would lead to laziness, but now I see it more as a strength, something I want to achieve. The album is very much about that ... and about finding love. It's a feel good album.” You can download the song below. (NPR)
