Simian Style: We Go Ape For Primates

There is news and then there is Travis the chimp. At first read, his attack seemed like a quick (and slightly disturbing) interruption until a return to the regularly scheduled recession. But Travis lived on well past the point that the cops put him down thanks to the scandal surrounding an oh-so-unfunny New York Post cartoon. Last week there was the news that Kim Kardashian was carting around a chimp like it was a monogrammed LV clutch. And this week the saga found its way to the New York Times in a stunning piece on primate cohabitation entitled, "My Monkey, My Self." Well, it being Friday we were inspired to engage in a little monkey business of our own, because in the immortal words of Gwen Stefani, this shit is B-A-N-A-N-A-S. So, (hey, hey) here are some monkeys including a look from Christopher Kane's spring '09 runway and jewels by Charlotte Bjorlin D'Elia. Jane Goodall, eat your heart out.
