This Will Be Awesome: Somerset House Is Transforming Into An Ice Disco

People, it's time to ditch the blanket, put the box of mince pies away and get your skates on, disco style.

The Somerset House ice rink is officially a Christmas tradition in our fine city, synonymous with family festivities, after-work frolics with friends, and the awkward first date.

But things get really interesting when, for a few nights every season, this Christmas stalwart ditches its cozy picture-postcard image and transforms into an open-air club, allowing everyone to dance a little, drink a little, and fall over a lot.

Tonight is the return of Lovesick with DJ Blonde Ambition at the helm of the disco sleigh. Expect a top-notch winter wonderland, complete with lashings of mirror disco balls and multi-coloured bunting. There'll also be pros on hand to show everyone how it’s done (read: humiliate those lacking in coordination). Expect to be serenaded by some glam disco and a few airings of "Ice Ice Baby".
