See Grimes’ Claire Boucher’s Artwork (And Us) For A Cause!

grimes_by_raphaël_ouellet
We've recently come to learn that singer, Claire Boucher, of Grimes, is a double threat, also producing enviable artwork (we'd be happy just to master one of these skillz). And next weekend, March 23 through 25, she'll be debuting her artwork at the Audio Visual Arts gallery in the East Village. That Saturday night will also hold a silent auction presented by yours truly. All proceeds support Sisters in Spirit, a campaign by the Native Women's Association of Canada that aims to raise awareness of violence against Aboriginal women in Canada. If all the visual art and do-good shopping isn't enough for you, go see the band that's been on our pump-up jam playlist since, well, forever. Grimes is playing at the Mercury Lounge and Glasslands Gallery on March 23 and 24.

Audio Visual Arts Gallery Opening March 23 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. 34 East 1st Street (between 1st and 2nd avenues); 917-604-8856.
