M83, Mary J. Blige, And More Awesome Shows To Catch This Week

shows
M83, Active Child, Music Hall of Williamsburg, Webster Hall, November 22, $22
Hurry Up, We’re Dreaming is one of our favorite albums of the year — a sprawling double album that contains seemingly every idea that has ever popped into Anthony Gonzalez's head, spread over two gorgeous disks of pop grandeur. This week Gonzalez takes on NYC, bringing his earth-shattering, universe-expanding synthpop to a live audience.
Tuesday, November 22, 8 p.m., Webster Hall, 125 East 11th Street (between 3rd and 4th avenues); 212-353-1600.
Real Estate, Big Troubles, Liquor Store, Bowery Ballroom, November 23, $15
For low-key, chilled-out indie, there’s no one who does it better than Real Estate. From the tropical beaches of suburban New Jersey, the band has honed their wistful guitars, sort harmonies, and catchy melodies to something of a science. Hearing these guys live may even make you forget that winter is coming.
Wednesday, November 23 at 8 p.m. Bowery Ballroom, 6 Delancey Street (between Bowery and Chrystie Street); 212-533-2111.

Holy Ghost!, Jessica 6, Midnight Magic, Eli Escobar, Music Hall of Williamsburg, November 26, $20
From their first single, “Hold On,” to their song featuring Michael McDonald, “Some Children,” Holy Ghost! has brought the best in disco-punk bangers to the dance floor for years. This week’s show at the Music Hall should be something of a victory lap, capping off the release of their self-titled album. Here’s your chance to dance those Turkey Day calories away.
Saturday, November 26, 8 p.m., Music Hall of Williamsburg, 66 North 6th Street (between Kent and Wythe avenues); Brooklyn; 718-486-5400.
