Ansel “DJ Ansolo” Elgort Just Released The Next Great Bar Mitzvah Jam

Ansel Elgort won over the teens and tweens with his starring roles in The Fault In Our Stars and the Divergent movies. Now, he's attempting to infiltrate their bar and bat mitzvahs, too. As his DJ alter ego "Ansolo," Elgort has released the track "To Life," which features Too Many Zooz. The musical theater fans among us know that "To Life" is also the title of one of the songs in Fiddler On The Roof. Unsurprisingly, Ansolo's song sounds like what would happen if Tevye and Lazar Wolf went to Electric Daisy Carnival. What young man or woman (or parent, for that matter) would be able to resist putting this on a bar or bat mitzvah playlist? It may be schlocky, but it's the perfect song to transition from the religious proceedings to the party phase of the event. We'd suggest playing it it just after the candle lighting. The art for the track, visible on YouTube, features a young man in a yarmulke being lifted up on a chair for the hora. Ansolo's making a shrewd business move here; after all, the Black Eyed Peas infiltrated the bar/bat mitzvah circuit with their 2009 song "I Gotta Feeling," and all it featured was a mere "mazel tov." For what it's worth, the song I most closely associate with my bat mitzvah is Joni Mitchell's "Circle Game," which played over a slideshow featuring photos of me through the ages.
