It's a bittersweet day in Hollywoodland. Fans of both the Fast & the Furious saga and the late Paul Walker have a reason to rejoice: Fast & Furious 7 will, indeed, go on. Come April 10, 2015, audiences will be able to watch the late actor's final contribution to the franchise Walker helped seed in the hearts of many a fangirl and boy.
Vin Diesel took to Facebook late last night to share the announcement. This comes just a few weeks after Universal Studio execs announced they were holding the project indefinitely. Diesel proudly dropped the release date, saying Walker would've wanted us, the fans, to know before anyone else. The actor also shared an on-set photo of the last scene the two filmed together.
"[sic] The last scene we filmed together...There was a unique sense of completion, of pride we shared… in the film we were now completing…," Diesel wrote, "the magic captured… and, in just how far we've come…" We'll be seeing ya in 2015, Paul. Until then, our thoughts still go out to the cast, crew, and family still reeling from the untimely passing of the actor. (Us Weekly)
