Money Diaries: How Much Are People Spending On Harry Styles?

Harry Styles fever has taken over Australia, with the Aperture singer finally touring this side of the world for the first time since 2023. It's a big deal, with a special pop up shop in Sydney packed with fans looking to snag some exclusive merch and empty their wallets. Refinery29 Australia spoke to some fans waiting patiently in line to see how much they have already spent on Styles this year.

Two fans who have tickets to both shows in Sydney admit they've spent upwards of $1000 on Harry Styles this year, but that actually pales in comparison to previous years. "I don't even want to know. I went to England, to see him in 2022. So that was, thousands and I don't want to think about it," the first says. "It doesn't matter. Money is fake, but Harry Styles is forever." Their friend agrees, saying, "I went to Austria. I've probably spent upwards of like $5000, at least. Way more, probably."

Another fan spent $1000 just on tickets to Styles' Together, Together tour dates in Australia. "Purely based on the tickets to his shows, [I've spent] probably $1000. Plus the vinyl. Plus [what I spend at the pop up shop] today. Plus the flights. I'm willing [to spend], my whole bank account really. Nothing else is important," they declare.

A group of Harry Styles fans have spent at least $2000 on the artist so far. "We're going to all the Sydney and Melbourne ones, and then they're going to London... it's a lot of money, but it's fair. It's worth it for him," they say. "We're going to London as well. Honestly, I don't even want to think or count it up, but it's worth it."

"Already so far, I've probably spent close to $1400," another fan admits. "But I'm probably going to spend more, especially like, I make friendship bracelets for concerts and stuff and I can spend hundreds on beads. Probably close to $3000 by the end of this year."

"I've just calculated how much I've already spent. I think I've already spent to $3000 this year on this album. That's really bad, I know," their friend adds. "'Cause I bought most of the vinyls, and the CD, and the cassette. And then I bought two VIP tickets, and then I bought my friend VIP tickets as well. So it's $3000 now, [but] after [the pop up shop it's] probably going to be a lot higher."

The lowest amount a fan had spent on Styles was $300 on concert tickets. They live in Sydney, so they won't have to travel interstate to attend. "That's not that bad. But today, it might go up," they tell us.
