AFC's Australian Fashion Week has levelled up for 2026. With a brand new location, one of the biggest events in the fashion calendar is going all out for its 30th year. Held from 11 to 15 May, punters will need to head to the glitzy Museum of Contemporary Art Australia this year rather than Carriageworks. "Bringing Australian Fashion Week to the Museum of Contemporary Art marks an exciting new chapter for the event and for Australian fashion more broadly," AFC executive chair Marianne Perkovic said in a press release. "The MCA provides an iconic Sydney backdrop that reflects the creativity, cultural relevance and global outlook of our designers, while enabling a more open, connected and internationally compelling format."

For everything you need to know about Australian Fashion Week 2026, read on below.
Where is Australian Fashion Week 2026 held?
Australian Fashion Week 2026 will take place at the Museum of Contemporary Art in The Rocks, Sydney. It's close to the Overseas Passenger Terminal, where the event originally took place from 2003 to 2012, so this move feels fitting.
When will Australian Fashion Week 2026 take place?
Australian Fashion Week 2026 kicks off on May 11 and will wrap up on May 15.
What happens at Australian Fashion Week 2026?
Last year, Australian Fashion Week changed tune and focused more on trade shows rather than consumers. It's possible that Australian Fashion Week 2026 will follow the same trend, especially now that there is a brand new location. The strategy underpinning the event is to build and support long-term global presence and growth of Australia's fashion industry.
Last year, Australian Fashion Week chief executive Kellie Hush worked with Australian labels to try and drum up international interest in wholesale opportunities. Beare Park, Romance Was Born, and Farage were among the many labels being pushed.
AFC Australian Fashion Week is an invitation-only industry event, but according to their website, the general public will have opportunities to attend shows, workshops and talks.
