The Museum Of Craft And Design Debuts At Proxy

The Proxy Project in Hayes Valley just got a little cooler this weekend with the addition of a pop-up museum from the Museum of Craft and Design, which is looking to settle in the city permanently in the very near future. In true crafty fashion, the museum invited folks from the community to pitch in and help wood sculptor Andy Vogt build the space. The impressive results are chronicled on the museum’s Facebook page. If you didn’t get a chance to help this time 'round, no worries. The temporary space, which will leave Proxy on October 15, will also host two other interactive installation-building sessions with artists Jesse Schlessinger (on August 21) and Nataly Gattegno and Jason Kelly Johnson (on September 17), for those who want to get their hands dirty. Get the full deets here, and be sure to check the pop-up space—and nifty pop-up museum shop!—in person.
