You’ll Want To Wear This Ombré Manicure Trend All Season Long

Photo via @mood.em.
If you're after an easy yet striking manicure trend, ombré-coloured nails are for you. The technique involves using two or more colours to create a gradient effect on your nails, and can even be combined with other popular techniques, such as a French tip or cat eye nail. Your ombré manicure can also be used as a base, with nail art or glitter added on top to elevate it.

How do you achieve ombré nails at home?

According to Passione Beauty, there are two methods. The first involves using a decoration brush with a sponge. "After applying the base colour, gently dab with a sponge to blend the two shades," they say. You can also use an ombré brush to blend each colour together. Adore Beauty also has a full tutorial, which seems foolproof.

What nail polish works well for the ombré nail trend?

For a pink-tipped ombré look, pair Essie's Romper Room polish, $16.99 $14.99 with their Pink Diamond polish, $16.99 $14.99. For a frosty winter hue, try OPI's Alpine Snow, $21.95 $19.76 and Sienna's pastel blue Wategos, $29. Other combos that work well are rainbow, neon yellow to neon green, sunset, and gothic-themed nails with black to red. We've rounded up the best ombré below to give you all the inspo you need.

Golden Glow

This gold chrome ombré set is elegant without being too in-your-face. We love what @isabelmaynails has done for @beautyunionpl and will be taking this straight to the salon.

Pretty In Pink

Two tones of pink always look great together, and we love what @amberjhnails has done with this set. This manicure will see you through the colder months of the year by bringing a little splash of colour to your life. Try Essie's Romper Room polish, $16.99 $14.99 with their Pink Diamond polish, $16.99 $14.99 to get the look at home.

Sunset Vibes

For a bolder ombré manicure, use two neon shades like @arfinails. The orange and pink hues resemble a sunset, which you can carry with you wherever you go.

Mocha Mousse

Mocha Mousse is still a trending colour, and we expect to see it everywhere during autumn and winter. This simple design by @matik_nail and @thepinkissue_com reminds us of a creamy iced coffee, and we're not mad about it. Try Sally Hansen's Miracle Gel Nail Polish Mocha Me Crazy, $18.95 $15.99 and Sienna's Deep Burnt Umber Crème, $29, to recreate the look at home.

Winter Frost

This pastel blue ombré manicure by @mood.em has got us reaching for a fluffy blanket and hot chocolate. It's clean, fresh and has us feeling ready for the cold snap later in the year.

Feeling Dotty

You can't go wrong with polka dots to add a little bit of joy to your nails. This set by @nailz.by_lily is glossy, symmetrical, and the dots add some whimsy.

Cat Eye Red

The cat eye nail trend is here to stay, and we are in love with @nigrumbeauty_eyelash's deep red version. Try Manicurist's Green Nail Polish in Dark Pansy, $24, for a similar look at home.

Pink French

This hidden ombré French tip set by @gellish.studio is so pretty. With a soft pink hue painted over the top, the French tips are softened and melt into the rest of the design like butter.

Green Velvet

Green is one of 2026's biggest colours, so this set by @glossie_nailclients is one to take to the salon. The bold set uses three different shades of green, starting from a dark hue and ending with a pastel version.

Glitter Ombré

French tips, ombré, AND glitter?! This set by @ladydi_988_nails ticks all the boxes.

Cherry Blossoms

Ombré doesn't have to be simple. @luxuriousnailart has used a soft pink ombré base and then stencilled some detailed cherry blossom nail art on top.

Bright Butterfly

While @trending.nails.ideas described this set as a sunset, to us, it looks like the colourful wings of a butterfly. By starting and ending with black, the splash of colour stands out even more than usual, and the reverse-patterned French Tips only add to the intrigue.
