Not to get all "if our lives were a soundtrack" on you, but with summertime on the horizon (sort of) there is no funky pop beat by YACHT that isn’t speaking to us right now. The Texan-gone-Portland-gone-L.A.-based beat masters behind the band, Jona Bechtolt and Claire L. Evans, have garnered plenty of buzz in the past few years, touring with the likes of LCD Soundsystem and Vampire Weekend, and remixin’ with legends like Snoop Dogg, Kings of Leon, and Ratatat. If you weren’t already going ga-ga over the duo’s dreamy and highly addictive indie-pop beats, well, it’s only a matter of time! Their latest single, "Second Summer," is sure to have us all sippin’ the same lyrical Kool-Aid come May.
Lucky for us, we got to catch up with the ever-thoughtful and science-minded Claire L. Evans when she was recently in S.F. for a gig. And while we've been enamored with the gal since seeing her blue-lipped self at Outside Lands, hearing about her favorite local spots for vegan pancakes and "psychedelic playtime" only enhanced our adoration! Check out Evans’ fresh travel style and more after the jump!
