The phrase "Hollywood royalty" just took on a whole new meaning. Genealogy website findmypast.com just released a list of the American celebrities most closely related to the queen of England. We would say the top of the list isn't exactly who you'd think, but we've never really thought about this before, so we'll just present the facts and let you decide if the results are surprising.
Hilary Duff comes in at number one. She's the queen's 18th cousin with no removals — a pretty impressive pedigree this side of the pond. Maggie and Jake Gyllenhaal are at number three, and Paris Hilton and Ellen DeGeneres made the list, as well. Congrats, guys — now you officially have the right to wear crazy hats, unwittingly pose nude for the whole Internet to see, and inject your face with bee venom. Yay!
