Earn Yourself Some Green-Living Cred At This Two-Day Fest

greenslide
Still don't have weekend plans? Well, how about, instead of the usual brunch-and-window-shopping routine, you end the month on a greener note with the 8th annual Green Festival here in the District. During the two-day eco-friendly extravaganza, you’ll take in everything from screen-printing tutorials to raw-fruit pie-tastings and demonstrations on DIY lip balm. (How cool is that?)
You'll also get the scoop on socially conscious clothing, jewelry, and home products — and have the chance to shop some of the wares, too. And, obviously, you'll want to eat well while you're there— so expect a bounty of organic foods and home-brewed beer. A single day pass is $10 if you scoop one in advance; if you’re an eleventh-hour type, it'll be $15 at the door.
When: Saturday, September 29, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Sunday, September 30, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. See the full schedule here; buy tickets here.
Where: Walter E. Washington Convention Center, 801 Mount Vernon Place NW; no phone.
