Your Horoscope According To Celebrities

Illustrated by Mallory Heyer
It's the first day of the summer, and the first day of the Cancer sign, running from June 21 to July 22. To all my crabs out there: Happy Birthday! To everyone else: It's time to pay your respects to the intense and intuitive Cancers in your life.
The sun is hot and so are your emotions, but that is true year-round if we're being honest. But the best way to truly understand the nuances of your sign, it's best to look at the stars. No, not the stars in the sky — the stars on your televisions, your social media feeds, and your music playlists. The stars that influence your clothing choices, song preferences, and beyond. I'm talking about celebrities. (Geminis, you just missed your star-filled breakdown, but you can check it out year-round here.)
This month, the most eclectic and influential stars are in full form. Selena Gomez, Ariana Grande, Lindsay Lohan, and Jaden Smith are all Cancers, and they satisfy each of the sign's traits to a T.
If you ever thought that there was a specific reasons that "Kill 'Em With Kindness" spoke to your soul, or that Smith carrying his dreds to the 2017 Met Gala was a very #you move, it's because you share their spontaneity and passion towards everything in life. In nature, crabs are known for their fiery red shells, and tough-to-crack exterior, and so are you.
So, which of these famous Cancers is your famous horoscope twin? Let's see. It's your time to shine.

Ariana Grande, June 26

The girl with the magical ponytail is so much more than just an iconic hairdo — she also perfectly epitomizes loyalty, as many Cancers do. Known for their nurturing qualities, crabs only sharpen their claws when they're looking out for loved ones.

If you feel your strongest when you have a reliable crew nearby, or when you are proving your loyalty to your besties — Grande is your Cancer counterpart.

Lindsay Lohan, July 2

Being moody isn't necessarily a bad thing, but Lindsay Lohan does come to mind when one thinks about stars who have changed the course of their career a few times because of spur of the moment emotional decisions. After starring in a reality show documenting her personal life and recovery, the full range of Lohan's moods came to light. If life's a wild road trip, Cancers are usually the ones driving the bus.

If you feel suspicious towards others sometimes because you let your moods guide you (but never get the best of you) — Lohan is your Cancer counterpart.

Jaden Smith, July 8

Jaden Smith does more than beat to the sound of his own drum. The son of actor Will Smith is too busy making his own drums and creating his own beats (literally, and metaphorically). As an entertainer and influencer, he is a walking contradiction. Sometimes he is crystal clear in what he wants to express, and other times he is confusing as hell. The spontaneous moments are balanced by the scripted ones. Life is a performance, and it does not always make sense.

If you enjoy making others questions their own reality — Smith is absolutely your Cancer counterpart.

Selena Gomez, July 22

Selena Gomez is a few things, and emotional is definitely one of them. Being tapped into one's emotions may be seen as a flaw at times, but being able to let go of inhibition and express how you feel is a true advantage as an artist. Cancers wear their heart on their sleeve — or claw.

If you feel like sometimes you can't hide your emotions (perhaps you're a ... bad liar) — then Gomez is your Cancer counterpart.
