We’ve got to hand it to Taylor Swift. Over the past couple of years, the country singer-turned-pop star has traded in her signature princess dresses and sweet, girly style for a complete fashion overhaul. It’s one that has made cats into an accessory, inspired everyone to up their post-gym beauty game, and earned her a number-one spot on this year’s People’s Best Dressed list.
But, while Swift might not have any qualms about showing cleavage or a sliver of stomach, there’s one body part she still keeps hidden: her belly button. This secrecy has prompted internet rumors — Is it pierced? Is it an outie? — but the world may never really know the answer. As the singer tells Lucky, “When you start showing your belly button, then you’re really committing to the midriff thing. I only partially commit to the midriff thing — you’re only seeing lower rib cage. I don’t want people to know if I have one or not.”

In true T-Swift fashion, she wants to keep things classy and maintain a hint of mystery. “As far as anyone knows, based on my public appearances, they haven’t seen evidence of a belly button. It could be pierced. They have no idea. If I’m going to get some sort of massive tattoo, it’s going to be right next to my belly button because no one’s ever going to see that.” Touché.
