Star-Struck: Reverie’s Celestial Stylings

gas1027
We can say with some confidence that astrophysics as a topic is far, far away (lightyears, perhaps) from the thoughts of most people in fashion. Yet Israeli-born, New York based designer Ronit Genik has gazed beyond the fashion world to the celestial world, and come away with the inspiration for Reverie. Her collection draws on images of stars and gases from deep space, and, more broadly, the dreamy quality of pondering natural phenomena. You'd be surprised how modern a planetarium looks when sewed into a shimmery dress (it's more compact, too). While it's nice when nebulous—ha!—science concepts become tangible, we'll leave it up to you to decide if interstellar matter is indeed wearable.
