Win Daily Freebies

Cost-cutting deals are great, but getting high-quality products free of charge is undisputedly better. Amazon is offering daily prizes from now until July 10.

Simply go to the Amazon app, tap the menu icon in the upper right-hand corner, and scroll down to "Win Prizes Daily Up to Prime Day." You'll see the current prize as well as upcoming ones, and you'll be able to enter after watching a short Prime Day video. Offers include Starbucks gift cards, but also MacBooks, iPads, and Nikon cameras.

Take A Sneak Peek

Get Notifications

When you're running around doing errands or attending meetings, it can be easy to lose track of when your most-desired Prime Day item goes on sale. Thanks to the "Watching" tool on the Amazon app, you don't need to worry about that.

When you see an item you want, tap the "Watch This Deal" button. You'll be prompted to turn on push notifications, which will let you know when the sale starts. If you don't want push notifications, the item will still be added to a special "Watching" tab within the "Today's Deals" section of the app.

Talk To Alexa

Amazon is making Alexa extra useful this Prime Day. You can ask the voice-activated virtual assistant this question, "Alexa, what are your deals?", and you'll get exclusive Alexa deals on Prime Day. Plus, if you've never used Alexa to make an order — you'll get a $10 credit for an Amazon order via Alexa from now to July 9.

Take A Browser Shortcut

If you're at work but want to check out deals from time to time, download the Amazon Assistant. The browser plug-in makes it easier to get to deals with a single tap, and offers access to order updates so you can track the status of your latest buy.

Track Your Time Remaining

Lightning deals are ones that are only available for certain periods of time, and in limited quantities. You'll know which deals are lightning deals because they'll appear in the "Right Now" tab of the "Today's Deals" section of the app. These deals will have a timer and percentage claimed indicator below the product name.

Show Your Preferences

The hardest thing about Prime Day is that, for most people, there are too many deals to sort through. Trying to find products that you actually want can be both time-consuming and exhausting.

Instead of sorting endlessly, find a few products that you like on your desktop and tap the heart in the upper-lefthand corner. This will help Amazon determine the kinds of things you like, and as a result, the site will give you a more personalized mix of suggested items and deals.
