Which Nicholas Sparks Movie Does Harry Styles Love The Most?

Harry Styles is not just like us. We aren't all Mick Jagger doppelångers. We don't all have an alluring falsetto. We weren't all in one of the most iconic millennial boy bands. But there is one major thing that I, and mostly likely you too, have in common with Styles — we get hooked on and weepy over any Nicholas Sparks flick. Styles revealed his love for the master of the sad and sweet rom-com in his profile in Rolling Stone. While talking to director Cameron Crowe, a legend in his own right, the 23-year-old singer told Crowe that he is an expert on the novelist's movie adaptations. He even has a nickname for him: "Nicky Spee." According to Crowe, Styles would often stay up late into the night watching rom-coms and other mushy-gushy movies.
Now that we know about his penchant for Sparks films, it makes sense that he produces love song after love song since romance is often on his brain. And, we also can't help but wonder which of Sparks' dozens of heartfelt dramas is Styles' absolute favorite of all-time. (We all have a favorite.) There are SO many to choose from, but we narrowed it down, based on everything we know about the British crooner. So — what's Harry Styles' favorite Nicholas Sparks movie? We ranked his top six. Read on and let us know if you agree. And, Mr. Sparks, if you're reading this — congrats on having such a dedicated famous fan.

#6. The Longest Ride (2015)

This is approximately one person's favorite Sparks story (hi, Clint Eastwood). This made the top six because it's new and features a Banks song in the trailer, which Styles enjoys. He's also fascinated with the West and the lifestyle of modern-day cowboys. (Speculation, but who isn't?)

#5. Safe Haven (2013)

When you watch a rom-com, sometimes you really just gotta lean in and go there. Safe Haven's super dramatic, drawn-out story (with a surprisingly intense ending) oozes clichés, making it a perfect movie for saps. And Styles is a total sap.

#4. Dear John (2010)

After filming Dunkirk, Styles has been extra engaged in movies featuring soldiers in combat and dealing with the repercussions of war. Also, Channing Tatum.

#3. The Last Song (2010)

Styles has got to support fellow musician-actors, like Miley Cyrus, as he debuts his acting career later this year. I think he would also get a kick of out the real-life couple that formed from this palpable on-set chemistry. Life imitating art is just so beautiful, isn't it Styles?

#2. The Notebook (2004)

It's only a matter of time before Harry Styles and Ryan Gosling have a full-on bromance. Just imagine a little Gosling-Styles diddy with Baby Goose on the keys and Styles with the mic. Icon-ic. This film is one of Styles' favorites (I mean, the rainy kiss, come on), but not his #1.

#1. A Walk To Remember (2002)

A bonafide classic. I dare you to disagree. This one checks all the boxes: terminal illness, unspoken love, star-crossed lovers, high school drama, wedding, death, ugh — I am tearing up just thinking about it.

Styles — we can cry to this sometime together if you need to. I know this is your #1.
