10 Fast-Fashion Moments We Want To See On The Red Carpet

Awards season is upon us, which is like the Super Bowl for fashion nerds: a chance to gather ‘round the tube and cheer (for our favorite dresses). This year's Golden Globes nominees have red carpet style and off-duty wardrobes that occupy opposite ends of a very broad sartorial spectrum — they may pair Topshop dresses with rag & bone booties when they're out and about in L.A., but it's a whole different ball game once the carpet's rolled out. With affordable retailers stocking so many elegant choices year-round, though, there’s no reason this should be the case.
Helen Hunt famously wore H&M to the 2013 Academy Awards, and Penelope Cruz followed suit for the 2014 Vanity Fair after party. The trend continued at last year's Met Gala, when a gaggle of models showed up in custom Topshop — but we still think affordable outfits aren’t seen nearly often enough in this arena.
Don't get us wrong: If we had a chance to wear a custom gown from an Italian fashion house, we'd jump on it quicker than a post-holiday sale. But, we'd also love to see Hollywood's style stars attend some of the most high-profile fashion events in ensembles we could realistically shop — so we decided to make that a bit easier for them. We found 10 fanciful frocks fit for big-screen beauties and their upcoming major nights out. See our dream best dressed list, ahead.
