Gwen Stefani has been a style icon since we sang along to "Don't Speak" and begged our mom to let us dye our hair blue. But, she's been taking it to the next level lately as the coolest mom on earth.
To wit: Bask in the boldness of her orange and black-tipped platinum blonde bangs. It sounds cray(ola), but on Gwen, we think it works.
Gwen was a surprise guest at L.A.'s Jingle Ball, joining Pharrell after he introduced her as the "Queen of L.A." (we agree!) for their new song "Spark the Fire."

We keep studying this shot with Pharrell, because it's kind of dark, and we thought she'd shaved the other side of her head to create this bold look.
But, after looking at these photos of her shopping with her kids (in leather pants, of course), you'll see she's just done a top-knot with the hair that hasn't been dipped to create a cool, edgy look.
Kristen Stewart went all-over orange in April for a a role, and Rachel McAdams went an orangey red in 2013, but neither look felt coherent. Gwen's new 'do feels very deliberate and statement-making, reminding us of a colorful bird or flames.
Or, you know...the coolest mom on earth.
