Dakota & Elle Fanning Talk Raiding Closets & Screaming Over Chanel
They grow up so fast! Dakota and Elle Fanning are W’s December cover girls and the gorg editorial spread — shot by Mario Sorrenti and styled by Lori Goldstein — shows the sisters dressed up in couture and participating in some sisterly acts like helping each other with makeup and whispering secrets.
What we really loved (after we finished ogling the breathlessly ethereal pics) were the two separate interviews with the girls, dishing on their charmed, fashion-obsessed lives. The highlights include Elle confessing to raiding her older sis’ closet in L.A., and being super bummed to find that all the goods were gone when Dakota left for college. We feel your pain, Elle. The younger sib also screamed out loud when she got her first Chanel show invite (totally normal reaction). Plus, Dakota shared what it was like to be in a Marc Jacobs campaign at age 12, and how she couldn’t even wear MJ's clothes to school (insider tidbit: the girls' school has a strict khaki-and-white-shirt dress code).
