Here at R29, we've been know to nerd out over some pretty diverse stuff — from rare vintage cocktail dresses to exceptional cups of coffee. So, naturally, Thirst's events — which combine socializing, cocktails, and quirky educational fodder — are always at the top of our to-do lists.
Tonight, they've got six Smithsonian experts on hand to teach you about Chinese food, indigenous tattooing, the color of Mars, and dinosaurs (among other things). There's a Halloween theme happening too, so if you're sporting a nerdy getup or a test-run costume, you might win 10 free drinks. And that, friends, is a lot of drinks. So, what are you waiting for? We can't think of a better opp to don those new smart-chic specs and get your learn on.
When: Tonight, from 7 p.m. to 1:30 a.m.
Where: The Equitable Co-operative Building Association, 915 F Street NW; no phone. Tickets are $20 in advance, $25 at the door.
