Pop quiz: Did you make it through the last month without a meltdown? Pat yourself on the back, sister — we did, too. And we're pretty proud of ourselves! There's a scientific reason for all those stats on family fights, relationship woes, and general personal pandemonium this time of year: The holidays tend to be majorly stressful. Thus, good behavior — or heck, just getting through December unscathed — should be rewarded.
The Spa at The Sports Club/LA Ritz Carlton, one of our fave treat-yourself spots in the city, totally sees eye to eye with us on that one. To wit, it's offering a special $99 treatment called the Heavenly Holiday Meltdown, available through tomorrow. The title alone piqued our interest, but when we learned that the 50-minute treatment entails a sweet-cream salt scrub (one of Oprah's favorite things, btw) followed by a warm caramel-shea-butter wrap and a chocolate moisturizing massage, we couldn't get ourselves out of our apartment and into a bath robe fast enough.
