From Nicole Richie's hair, to her personal style, and now even her design aesthetic, the one-time reality star is majorly deviating from her SoCal-hippie-chic roots. Maybe it's the influence of her rocker-husband, but Nicole is leaving the Simple Life behind, embracing a bleaker, moodier look for her fall '10 Winter Kate Collection. In the spirit of Richie's sexy first spring '10 line, the designer includes a few sheer, flowing minidresses and very low neck-lines but overall left soft and sensual to the wayside. While some of the pieces seem like sort of a cross between a cheesy Jack White and the Mad Hatter, there are definitely a few gems. Though we prefer the dreamy, patterned numbers that Richie does so well, we might take a cue from the designer herself and inject some tough into our looks for fall.
