September is still two days away, but we've officially got fall on the brain — and the buzz around next Thursday's Fashion's Night Out events is only boosting our anticipation for the upcoming season. We've got a full roundup of all things FNO coming down the pipeline, but we wanted to give you a little sneak peek at what is, in our book, the must-visit event of the night: the Hu's Wear and Hu's Shoes sales (hosted by your very own D.C. editor!).

Amazing items from the store's spring '12 and fall '11 inventory are marked down by 80% — that's right, 80%. Think Lanvin, Balenciaga, The Row, Isabel Marant, all insanely discounted — it's going to be a literal madhouse, but we can guarantee you it will be worth it. We stopped in yesterday to curate a rack of our favorite pieces that are oh-so-perfect for D.C. ladies (and, ahem, bought a few things for ourselves) — click through for the highlights from both stores.

And, if you're just dying to get in first, you can score a $45 VIP ticket to shop the sale from 5 to 7 p.m. from Gilt City.

    When: Thursday, September 6, from 5-9 p.m.
    Where: Hu's Wear, 2906 M Street NW, 202-342-2020; Hu's Shoes, 3005 M Street NW, 202-342-0202.

Now, THIS Is Why We Go To Paris Fashion Week

The Lanvin show was last on yesterday's Paris Fashion Week lineup, and it took a strong second wind for us to strut our jet-lagged selves up to the venue (in the dark, in heels, on cobblestone). We could see the crowd forming from down the block, and it was mostly lookers on attempting to glimpse the front row read
