Shop It NowThis D.C. Designer's Newest Offerings Have Us Swooning
Nothing makes us happier than a "local gal makes good" story, and Rochelle Behrens' bio is exactly that. The D.C. native launched a company based around the concept of a properly fitted shirt for professional women — one that doesn't gap between buttons and expose your bra — and soon landed her product, simply called The Shirt, on Oprah, The Today Show, and in The New York Times, Glamour, and People. Pretty savvy, right?
So, we're stoked to give you an exclusive peek at the brand's new collection of blouses that go way beyond the workplace. With a color inspired by L.A. at sunset and 10 silhouettes that pair easily with trousers, pencil skirts, and more, the collection builds on Behrens' vision of a confident yet fashion-conscious working woman. “When we design, we innately consider how a woman is going to live in our clothes," Behrens says. "From button placement to how it skims the body, to subtle details and special fabrics, we really innovate for a woman who loves luxury and appreciates fit." Just one afternoon in a jam-packed parking lot and you can walk away with several new vintage dresses, the throwback round sunnies you've been after forever, and the dinged-to-perfection nightstand of your dreams. But equally as difficult as rummaging through the stalls is knowing how to dress for a day at the flea.

Guys, If You Can Only Buy One Pair Of Oxford Wingtips...

...Yeah, make it these little numbers by Johnston & Murphy. See, we all need a pair of these babies kicking around somewhere in our wardrobes — a shoe with enough detail that it draws a few eyes, but isn't fuzzy or frilly. This guy — The McPherson by name — is a more relaxed take on the classic oxford wingtip thanks to its camel suede coloring and texture. It's just the sort of thing that can bridge a look from one scenario to the next — dressing up, say, shorts without socks, or dressing down a full suit. Oh, and as opposed to so many of its ilk, this model doesn't come with a hard leather sole, meaning unlike those poor schlubs down on Wall Street, you can actually walk a few blocks without having to call a car service. Of course, no one's saying you have to buy just one pair of wingtips...they also come in off-white suede and tan Italian calfskin. To see the new kicks in action, check out J&M's doc-style video, which features a fresh update on the heritage brand, with real-life NYC models wearing 'em in, including professional surfer/perennial stud Johnny Knapp and animated TV creator Robert Scull. Needless to say, we're already sold.
Johnston & Murphy McPherson wingtips, $175, available at Johnston & Murphy, 520 Madison Avenue (between 53rd and 54th streets); 212-527-2342.

These Armani Shades Will Make You A Movie Star (Or At Least Look Like One)
Sunglasses are the apex of cool, which might be why we love them so much in the 305. (Well, that, and perhaps the blinding, blazing sun...) And nothing says a summer more than than a rockin' tan and a pair of super luxe shades, which is why Giorgio Armani's ultra-iconic editorial is making us glad the rain is finally slowing.
Whether you're shielding the glare of flashing lights (paparazzi anyone?) or hiding those morning-after eyes, Armani's freshly launched retro-inspired shades are the modern take on a classic summer essential. Taking cues from the French New Wave classic La Nouvelle Vague, the cinematic lookbook images capture the enduring class of Armani's Frames of Life. With timeless key hole shapes and dark, round frames (plus that Armani touch of luxury), we're sure you'll make a spectacle wherever you decide to jet-set this summer!

Street Style: Early May Showers Bring Mix 'N' Match Florals

Given the persistant gray skies lately, it's like every time we look out the office window we think we could be in London (except of course, we've got The Standard East). It's a little dreary. Sure, we share style notes with our friends across the pond, but we'd like to let them have their weather all to themselves. So, in order to invigorate the mood, we've turned our lenses sidewalk-side and found an amazing look thats shocking us back to life. Enter Athanella Paul's layers of floral prints, just the thing to help us avoid electrotherapy. The Hawaiian skirt may be a difficult piece to match, so Athanella nailed it by mis-matching (or weirdly matching) to perfection. The windblown hair and the spikey white shoes (yes even with tights!) all work well together in an accidentally-chic type of way that everyone's always trying to get right. Though we wish we could have gotten a better look at that black boxy handbag, given her statement necklace and confident stance, we'll just go ahead and assume it's awesome, too.
If Miami Was A Shoe, This Is What It Would Look Like

As we were scooting around the internet today, we ran across the Brian Atwood "Mojito" pump, a bright, sassy, and fringed heel that must have been designed with Miami in mind. (Atwood was once a protegé of Versace, so his penchant for brights, tropical colors, and feminine frill comes straight from the master). The hot pink leather stiletto is simply made for a garden party or beside the pool at the Mondrian, with multi-colored raffia details along the heel and a woven back. Of course, we would wear these in our fantasy life, because the $1,455 price tag is a leedle off our radar. But raffia as the next big, super-luxe material? We're calling it.

15 Printed Shorts We're Already Obsessing Over
During this in-between weather, we're cuddling up in scarves one minute, buying $4 umbrellas (and breaking them immediately) the next, and yes, even wearing shorts every once in a while. So, ever the optimists, we decided to take the reins on shorts season by claiming we're nearly there (we are)! And what better way to prove it than by rounding up 15 awesome printed alternatives to mix in with your old faithfuls? Obviously, floral denim is blooming brightly for spring, so why should your legs wilt for summer? Indeed, there's no better way to reintroduce your stems to the sun than by stepping it up with bottoms as eye-catching as your impending tan. Yes, we said tan. See? This is so much more fun than talking about rain boots.

5 Outfits To Try This Week: Denim, Dirndls, And More
What happened to resting on the weekends anymore? Our Monday morning felt particularly sluggish, and all we wanted to do was to crawl to work wearing our sweats and oversized sweaters...and we did. But, with a few smart styling tricks, our comfy Monday look made it past our coworkers' discerning eyes — and inspired our following week's worth of outfits. Check out the slouchy, cozy, snuggly looks that will make you look way more polished than you feel.
On The Edge: Neutrals With A Touch Of Neon
They say there's always a silver lining, but after checking out all the new spring offerings cropping up on web-shops, we'd rather the lining be neon instead. Light-colored neutrals in linens, canvases, and straw fibers have always been a spring trend, but this year, they've been trimmed in shocking pinks, yellows, greens, and blues. If you want to buy into the neon trend without looking like a traffic cone, this is one way to subtly get the look. Ahead, our favorite neutral buys with a colorful edge!
Street Style: It's Sunny With A Chance Of Graphic Prints

This week's raising temps have the sandals coming out, the sunglasses going on, and the jackets nowhere in sight. But evenings and mornings are still a bit chilly, so it's time to really nail the perfectly transitional outfit that keeps you comfy on your commute (and when you take that extra long lunch break outside). We saw this one on the street and just had to snap it up. We love the use of the lace up booties (time to get your last wears in!) with the leather jacket as a topper, but the ensemble is kept breezy and cool with the bright T-shirt and flowy skirt. We're totally digging the pop of yellow with the graphic print and think this look can be remixed many different ways come summer, when you wouldn't even need the jacket at all (it'll come!). What's more, the casual but still chic clutch, bright pink lip, ombre hair, and beaming smile really finishes off this get-up to perfection. And who can stop grinning when it's this nice outside? We're totally those annoying people smirking on the sidewalk...especially when it's happy hour.
