Between Tavi Gevinson and Mary Grace Henry, the 16-year-old behind Reverse The Course, we're starting to think our teen years were seriously misspent. At the age of 12, Henry had already used her self-taught sewing skills to design, create, and sell her own reversible headbands — not bad, right? Even more amazingly, Henry decided to use her company's proceeds to send Kenyan girls to school. In the four years since, she's helped provide 35 young ladies with a collective 94 years of education — and that includes the cost of tuition, textbooks, boarding, and uniforms. So, it would be an understatement to say we're in awe of this young entrepreneur, whose selflessness is touching, inspiring, and absolutely life-changing.
But, to continue her project, Henry needs your help. She recently launched an Indiegogo page for her initiative so that people around the world could take part in her cause. And, according to the teen, the $60,000 goal amount would seriously jump-start the next level of her philanthropic effort. With the new funds, Henry would be able to build a more sophisticated website and e-commerce program, revise her brand's identity with a redesigned logo and signage, majorly scale and grow the business, and ultimately support countless young women to ensure they get the education they deserve.
