We're going to be bad beauty editors for a moment and make a confession: We thought braids were on their way out. After all, there are only so many ways you can twist, part, or plait your hair — despite what Pinterest may lead you to believe. The thing is, we love braids anyway, and if we want a new style, we're going to find one, dammit.
Find it we did — five of them to be exact. With the help of hairstylist Deborah Brider (who BTW can plait a whole head faster than anyone we've ever seen), we turned fishtails and reverse Frenches inside out and upside down. The secret? The hairstyles aren't about the braids themselves, rather the texture surrounding them. Brider used products from the TRESemmé Perfectly (un)Done collection to show what next-level style looks like and how to achieve it yourself in just a few easy steps.
