Daft Punk Brings Da Funk (With Sequins!) To Saint Laurent Paris

Trust, many folks at Coachella (us included) were bummed that Daft Punk's one-minute ad on the main stage wasn't a teaser for an upcoming surprise performance. But, desert revelers were actually the first to witness the latest from the duo — and we're not talking about the highly anticipated tracks!
For his Saint Laurent Music Project series, designer Hedi Slimane recruited and photographed Daft Punk for a series of black-and-white ads. This past weekend's Indio screening featured the performers in glittery le smoking jackets, which were designed by the creative director, bien sur. And, though the group's upcoming album is titled "Random Access Memories," this collab is anything but: The French duo has been recording in L.A. (coincidentally, Slimane's stomping grounds), and have a history with Saint Laurent Paris — they drafted the soundtrack to the designer's inaugural runway show for the French house back in October.
So, it seems as if Daft Punk has joined an illustrious group of Slimane muses (which include Marilyn Manson and Courtney Love as the current faces helmuts of the campaign). At this rate, we wouldn't be surprised if the Saint Laurent crew hosted its own music festival — tickets would sell faster than those celeb-adored duffles!
