We'd like to begin our discussion of W magazine's superheroine spread by pointing out one very important fact: Linda Evangelista is a 48-year-old human woman. Seems obvious, but when you see the photos, you just might get confused.
The international supermodel posed in a variety of latex bodysuits, capes, and masks in one of the wildest mainstream magazine editorials we've seen in a long time. Not that we expect any less from W, but we love to see a photo shoot that's less about celebrity, consumerism and shop-able picks in favor of what can only be described as a character piece. Girl is decked out in all kinds of outfits that, while the information and prices are available, serve a much higher purpose than selling big-name luxury brands. Somebody's gotta pay the bills, but when a mag looks as good as this, we're guessing renewed and first-time subscriptions will do the trick.
