Get Your Indie Art & Culture (& Fashion!) Fix At This H Street Pop-Up

dcresidenceslide
To kick off Digital Capital Week, two empty spaces on H Street NE get the pop-up treatment starting on Saturday — think local art, fashion, retail, and cultural programs with a cool indie vibe. The project is #DCRESIDENCE, and it's the brainchild of creative mover-and-shaker duo Allyson Behnke and Josef Palermo, along with Emma Fisher and The Fridge's Alex Gold. Their goal? To bring together a boatload of collaborators to show off the city's creative community.
For indie fashion and shopping, head to The Home on Saturday and Sunday. Inside, you'll find indie retailers, DIY designers, baked goods, and an art exhibition. Starting Monday, The Parlour — a once-abandoned loft — picks up the programming with discussions on arts and culture in the city, including a panel featuring local fashion designers on Wednesday night.
When: The Home is open Saturday, November 5, and Sunday, November 6, from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m. Opening party, Saturday, November 5, 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. The Parlour is open Monday, November 7, through Thursday, November 10, from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. See the full schedule here.
Where: The Home, 1629 L Street NE; The Parlour, 421 H Street NE, above The Big Board.
