Who is your celeb crush?
"Mindy Kaling."
What do you like and/or hate about dating in D.C.?

Biggest turn-ons/turn-offs?
"I'm turned on by confidence, style, humor, and a sense of adventure. And, who doesn't have a weakness for a pretty smile? As far as turn-offs go, I think manners are really important. Treat others and yourself with respect."
Do you have a deal breaker?
"Being in the hospitality industry, I'm a big fan of going out and trying new restaurants and bars. So, along those lines, I think being vegan or a super-picky eater would probably be a deal breaker for me. Also, you have to have a passport!"
What would your dream date in D.C. be?
"Honestly, I don't think it would be about the actual date, specifically. I think my dream date would be one where I had an intense connection with and attraction to my date. Hanging out and getting to know someone with that 'butterflies in your stomach' feeling and just really experiencing the excitement that comes with meeting and spending time with someone you know you could potentially fall in love with."
Worst date experience?
"I was on a bad date a few months ago, actually. The girl was rude to our server (one of my biggest pet peeves) and tweeted incessantly over the course of the evening. I'm all for social media, but constant updating is like having an annoying third wheel on the date. Be present in the moment and enjoy it."
Nicest thing you've ever done for someone?
"That's a tough one. I try to be nice in general. Kinda takes away from the spirit of it if you brag about it."

Biggest turn-ons/turn-offs?
"On: authenticity, independence, creativity, fitness. Off: superficial people, high-maintenance girls, pretension, cell phones."

"When someone isn’t happy with themselves, they aren’t ready for a relationship."

Worst date experience?
"You’ve got to crack some eggs to make an omelette. Bad dates are just a part of life! It’s best to just laugh through the misery and be polite."
Who is your celeb crush?
"Taylor Swift. It's a love story, baby, just say yes."
What do you like and/or hate about dating in D.C.?

"Beethoven. To have gone deaf and not be able to hear your art...My grandmother's home in Germany is in the same city as his childhood home, and I've visited quite often. He had a simple life, yet an incredible mind. To have seen his home and the city he grew up in and to be able to speak to him about his inspiration and his thoughts on his own music. Sexual Preference: Women
Get In Touch: @SciencEric
What do you look for in a significant other?
"An insanely curious mind. I am a professional scientist with an art background. I lecture on the science of creativity, and I simply love meeting people who are creative every day. I love being around people that want to make the world better through creative inquiry. And most important, I want to learn from her."
What are three things a potential significant other should know about you?
"I love the science of cooking, so the kitchen is my somewhat messy laboratory. I enjoy clothing and graphic design way more than any scientist should admit. And, I am fiercely loyal to those closest to me."
How would you describe yourself in one word?
"Incendiary. (I am a Ginger. I couldn't resist.)"
Do you have a deal breaker?
"Someone who simply has stopped learning — or stopped wanting to improve. I live by a quote from the famous scientist Carl Sagan: 'Somewhere, something incredible is waiting to be known.' And, that statement truly sums up a great life by one's self and amplifies a life shared."
What's your favorite thing for a girl to wear on a date?
"Her clearly thoughtful and well-executed style. I love clothing. I admire any woman that can define herself nonverbally to the world. It's beyond attractive to see a woman that has carved a style niche for herself and then explain why."
Coolest thing you've ever done:
"Hosting and writing my own TV show. Still cannot believe it. Close second? The fact that I am a scientist writing nerdy speeches for fashion designers and astronauts."
If you could have lunch with one person, male or female, living or dead, famous or non-famous, who would you choose?
"Dr. Carl Sagan. Because he was what I think every scientist should be: a great human that makes the world better every day and still finds the time to be a giant goofball with his or her friends and family."

What do you look for in a significant other?
"A vibrant personality and good sense of humor. Someone who is family-oriented. Someone who does things with purpose. A best friend who I can get in trouble with, or get in trouble and laugh about it later. Someone who appreciates the little things. A woman who is doing her thing and supports me doing mine. Someone who is comfortable in different social circles and I can explore the world with hand in hand."
Biggest turn-ons/turn-offs?
"On: natural beauty. A great smile. An amazing kiss. Ambition. Independence. Off: self-centeredness. No sense of adventure. Overly dependent. Impatience."
What would be your dream date in D.C.?
"It would probably start with a personal tasting of craft cocktails from one of the many amazing mixologist-compadres I’ve come across in the last 13 years. Followed by live jazz of some sort (I love live music). Afterwards, a yacht out on the Potomac River. Prepare an incredible dinner with amazing ingredients...together. Hand-picked bottles of wine is a must. And, enjoy the fruits of our labor under the light of stars and glow of the cityscape."

Who is your celeb crush?
"I actually have two. Zoe Saldana and Dania Ramirez."
Coolest thing you've ever done:
"It's too hard to choose one thing as the coolest. But I love traveling, so anyplace new — domestic or international — that might require me living out of a suitcase for an extended period of time with unnamed activity and shenanigans...I tend to find pretty cool."

What do you look for in a significant other?
"I look for someone who shares my passion and ambition."
How would you describe yourself in one word?
"Driven."
Biggest turn-ons/turn-offs?
"I’m a pretty simple guy. The biggest turn-on is someone with whom I can have open, honest dialogue. Communication is a huge part of my life and career, and the same is true in dating. I definitely don’t go for girls who deliberately play games."
Do you have a deal breaker?
"I want to say no, because I like to think of myself as someone who’s able to take the good with the bad if it’s the right person. After all, nobody’s perfect. That said, I think I’d have a hard time getting past someone who’s lazy, or takes themselves way too seriously."
What's your favorite thing for a girl to wear on a date?
"That obviously depends on the venue, but no matter the situation, I appreciate a girl who’s confident enough to dress it down a little. I believe in keeping it simple rather than trying too hard."

What do you like and/or hate about dating in D.C.?
"Well, one good thing is that the city has no shortage of ambitious women, which as I said is important to me. Of course, the other side of that coin is that I find a lot of people in this town have a hard time slowing down and taking time to enjoy life. I can be guilty of that myself, so it's extra tough when you both have really packed schedules."
What would be your dream date in D.C.?
"Something really chill. No dressing up, no strict schedules to stick to, no reservation time, just chill."
