The Perfect Comfy-Chic Getup For Dinner At H Street’s Best New Resto

slide
Is there such a thing as The Perfect Restaurant? One where the food, drinks, decor, waitstaff, and general vibe all work in harmony to create a dining experience that you start to crave almost immediately after signing the check? H Street's Boundary Road started earning the rep for being exactly that place, back in mid-February, when chef Brad Walker, a Fiola alum, opened the doors on 5th Street NE. The murmurs elevated to a steady buzz when the President and First Lady dined there last month, and the venue is getting serious love from foodies and fans of creative cocktails.

We're enamored with the rustic-cool interior (including a chandelier crafted from an old boxspring — it's rad, trust us) and the small, carefully chosen menu of local and seasonal comfort-food dishes. On our own date night, we'd debate between the hand-cut fries with curry sauce or the pierogi, and the hanger steak or a bowl of steaming minestrone. Either way, we suggest kicking things off with the oh-so-aptly named I'm Thinking About Getting a Vespa cocktail. The best part? We've chosen a perfect outfit for dinner and drinks, so all you have to do is make a reservation and dig in.
