Designer Alice Ritter has her modern French girl thing down pat, so we were particularly psyched to see her latest delivery featuring a slightly funkier brand of Left Bank gamine in her spring '10 lookbook. "There were so many inspirations," the designer says. "Ethnic, urban safari, early '90s..and my past two collections have been inspired in a major way by blogs and sites like Refinery." (Us: "Awww.") She goes on to tell us this particular line is really about personal style, and there's no question that Ritter's love of natural, comfy fabrics like crinkled cottons and silk blends will work especially well for us when cut into some very chic high-waisted trousers, big-bowed studded dresses and shorts, and the most perfect range of nautical striped pieces. Divine but still easy to wear...just the sort of Frenchness we like.
