There was no shortage of great music this year.

Artists from Kanye West and Beyoncé to The Weeknd and Ariana Grande dropped albums in 2016, giving us plenty of new earworms to enjoy. But some of this year's hottest songs also came with a heaping side of controversy, giving us novel memes and fresh feuds to obsess over (Rachel Roy vs. the Beyhive, anyone?).

As the year comes to a close, we've rounded up the lyrics that set tongues wagging. Whether you're still trying to figure out the secret identity of "Becky with the good hair" (so are we!) or wondering what a dick bicycle actually is (who isn't?), these will go down as pop-culture moments to remember — for better or worse. Some you may have already forgotten (*cough* Kylie Jenner's musical "debut"?). Others you will likely never forget (thanks, Kanye!).

So without further ado, let's look back on the song lyrics that made our jaws drop in 2016.

    Song: "Famous" By Kanye West
Lyric: "I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex/Why? I made that bitch famous"

I mean, is there any other way I could have opened this list? Successfully reigniting his feud with Taylor Swift from 2009, West's entire song (and its subsequent music video!) was rife with controversy, but it was this line in particular that blew up Snapchat (thanks, Kim!), Twitter, and every other social media outlet imaginable. I'm going to call it: This was the celebrity feud of 2016. And it all started with this song.

Song: "Father Stretch My Hands Pt. 1" By Kanye West
Lyric: "Now if I fuck this model/And she just bleached her asshole/And I get bleach on my T-shirt/I'mma feel like an asshole"

In true Kanye fashion, West's highly anticipated album The Life of Pablo was filled with plenty of lyrics designed for shock value, but it'd be impossible not to mention this verse in particular, which kinda speaks for itself.

    Song: "Sorry" By Beyoncé
Lyric: "He better call Becky with the good hair"

The entire Lemonade album had us collectively wondering what the f*ck Jay Z did to our girl, but it was this line in particular that seemed to shatter the earth in one fell swoop. Who was Becky and, again, what the f*ck was Jay thinking? Thankfully, the controversy around this line didn't shroud the fact that Lemonade was one of the best albums of the year. I still feel a bit sorry for Rachel Roy, Rachael Ray, and Becky Katsopolis from Full House. But at least they've still got their great hair.

Song: "Send It" By Austin Mahone Ft. Rich Homie Quan
Lyric: "Baby, you can trust me, promise I'm alone/I won't tell a soul, send it to my phone"

Many times when teen pop stars transition to more adult fare, they end up oversexing everything up in an attempt to prove their adulthood...or something. In any event, this usually stirs up controversy due to their young fan base. "Send It" is, in a nutshell, about the singer and rapper trying to get a girl to "send nudes," as the youths say, which is problematic for many reasons. Young girls out there, don't let a guy pressure you to "send nudes." Send him the middle-finger emoji instead.

Song: "Beautiful Day" By Burberry Perry Ft. Lil Yachty, Kylie Jenner, Justine Skye, & Jordyn Woods
    Lyric: "I wish a f*ck n---- would, yeah"

Kylie Jenner's musical "debut," if you can even call it that, came on this quickly forgotten rap song by Burberry Perry. Jenner was auto-tuned to oblivion, but incited an internet outrage when it seemed she used "n-----." However, apparently it wasn't her singing that line. So, there's that.
