Miley Cyrus Explains Why She Doesn’t Want To Join Taylor Swift’s Squad

Miley Cyrus is just saying no to Taylor Swift. In a new interview with The New York Times, Cyrus makes it very clear that she has no interest — zero, nada, zilch — in joining T.Swift’s squad. Cyrus tells the publication that while Swift has been busy collecting “musicians, actresses, models, entrepreneurs” to be her friends, she’s just trying to do her own thing. You know, just be Miley. “I’m not trying to be in the squad,” Cyrus said, before adding, “None of my friends are famous and not because of any other reason than I just like real people who are living real lives, because I’m inspired by them.” We have to wonder how Cyrus’ bestie and front man for the Flaming Lips Wayne Coyne feels about all of this, especially after he helped her pull a Beyoncé with her delightfully weird (not to mention absolutely free) follow-up to 2013’s Bangerz, Miley Cyrus and Her Dead Petz. This of course isn’t the first time Miley’s taken a shot at Swift, previously telling Marie Claire she had a problem with her “Bad Blood” video. "I don't get the violence revenge thing. That's supposed to be a good example?” she told the magazine. “And I'm a bad role model because I'm running around with my titties out? I'm not sure how titties are worse than guns.” Cyrus sure has been throwing a lot of what some may categorize as shade as of late, previously telling The New York Times that Nicki Minaj isn’t very polite. Of course that’s when things got very real, namely, Minaj calling out Cyrus during her speech at the VMAs. Now we all get to wait and see if Swift follows Minaj’s lead and forces us all to feel very uncomfortable all over again. Though, we imagine Swift is a little too busy touring the world with her squad to care all that much.
