There's a lot happening during the 2015 MTV Video Music Awards. There's Nicki Minaj settling her beef with Taylor Swift; there's Nicki Minaj igniting an even better (and totally warranted) beef with Miley Cyrus; and there's the ongoing existence of Macklemore's career. It's enough to make a grown-ish man cry. And that's exactly what happened to Justin Bieber during the emotionally jarring 2015 MTV Video Music Awards. After he sang and danced along to his hits "Where Are Ü Now" and "What Do You Mean," the Canadian pop star, put his head in his hands, and then broke down in tears. While it's unclear exactly why the Biebs turned into a blubbering mess on the VMA stage (Refinery29 has reached out to the singer's reps for a statement regarding the incident, but have not yet received a comment), it instantly turned into a buzzed-about moment during an evening that's already trying so damn hard to break the internet. Were they tears of joy? Tears of sadness? Who's to say, but Crying Biebs has quickly turned into a meme and Twitter fodder:
