We love summer travel, but all that jet-setting can be flummoxing for your wardrobe — especially when you're hopping from one climate to another via overly air-conditioned airports and planes. (Stingy much with the blankets, flight attendants?) While a pair of sweats or yoga pants may seem apropos for those painfully uncomfortable long-haul flights, the athleisure look also kind of screams, “I give up.” Plus, how do you style a sophisticated outfit when your base is gym leggings? Never mind that sneakers are a total pain in the ass to take off and lace back up after going through security.
Well, leave it to world traveler Gigi Hadid
— who just flew from early-summer Montreal to wintry Sao Paulo, Brazil — to show us how to wear comfy gym pants and
somehow look 100% street style-ready. Unsurprisingly, the supermodel-slash-street-style-star effortlessly elevated her trusty, ankle-length Nike running pants, presumably laundered after that sweaty boxing workout
last November. Hadid opted for an edged-up, side-zip summer knit from Style Stalker on top and accessorized with low-heeled, brown, suede Saint Laurent jodhpur booties, another one of her closet staples. Instead of, say, a beat-up backpack or sporty duffle, a plush, brown, leather tote finished off the model’s comfy-chic airport ensemble. And, the bag looks roomy enough to stash everything Gigi needs for her trip — including what appears to be a furry stole. (Again, never
enough blankets on the plane.)
