Who she is:
A top editorial makeup artist, photographer, and visionary behind the groundbreaking beauty blog Beauty Is Boring
What she brings to the table:
After a decade as a makeup artist and over two years as a beauty blogger, photographer, and occasional beauty editor, Robin is notoriously picky when it comes to products. She expects a beauty product to do what it claims, look great in person, look great on camera, have well-designed packaging (design plus functionality!), contain ingredients that are not harmful to skin, and smell lovely (or have no fragrance). And when it comes to her personal collection, no animal testing. Eco-friendly packaging and fair-trade manufacturing are always a plus!
Best beauty tip:
"I always carry Scotch tape in my kit — it’s quick lip exfoliant or in a pinch, to gently remove flaky skin before applying makeup. It’s also perfect for lifting those annoying little bits of eyeshadow that fall onto your cheeks without ruining the foundation underneath, removing glitter (it’s the only thing that works!), or even as an easy-to-use stencil for creating graphic eye shapes."
