Last year, Gwyneth Paltrow moved goop's headquarters from London to
Los Angeles, and opened a pop-up shop in town, too. And, now she's
getting even more serious about her L.A. takeover.
TMZ reports that the actress has purchased Larry Flynt's sex store, Hustler
Hollywood, located on the Sunset Strip in West Hollywood. Does your
brain hurt trying to think of how she'll goop-ify a sex shop? Lest you
think she would venture so far off brand, she's turning the store into a
posh restaurant and nightclub.
And, because this is Paltrow after
all, it won't be just any old club. TMZ says it will be a new outpost of
London's The Arts Club, featuring a pricey yearly membership fee and a strict
dress code. (Think: head-to-toe goop exclusives from G.P. faves Stella McCartney and 3.1 Phillip Lim.)
Flynt's rep told the website that the building is
currently in escrow, so only time will tell exactly what Paltrow has up
her sleeve for the property. We're guessing those plastic lingerie
models will be the first to go.
