The 38-year-old shared some encouraging, emoji-filled texts from Betty Witherspoon on Instagram on Monday that prove as much. They are exactly like everyone's moms' texts.
"Continue to make movies of inspiration and humor!" Betty wrote, finishing with, "You can do it. Coffee."
The last time we heard from Betty Witherspoon, things were a little less cheery. Back in 2012, she went to court to sue husband John Witherspoon of bigamy. Though they separated in 1996, she said she still loved him and worried he was suffering from dementia. He had married Tricianne Taylor that year, but he and Betty had never divorced, and Betty said she feared for his safety.

Witherspoon didn't take home a statue from Sunday night's Golden Globe Awards, but the Best Actress nominee won in other ways. First off, she looked amazing in her beaded Calvin Klein Collection gown, with Wild author Cheryl Strayed on her arm. And, as she also boasted to Instagram, she made progress in potty training son Tennessee.
