Cronut Fans: The Grilled Cheese Crescent Doughnut Is Here

Designed by Jenny Kraemer.
In May 2013, Dominique Ansel Bakery struck gold with the inexplicably delicious Cronut. The small, round pastry has since launched a thousand queues and several imitators. Even with the release of the official recipe, the copycat craze shows no signs of slowing down as a new iteration seems to emerge every other day. The latest look-alike? A grilled cheese doughnut, according to The Huffington Post.
Oh, Bite It!'s new recipe took the best thing about the Cronut — the rich, multifold fillings — and made it even more indulgent. Instead of vanilla cream or seasonal jam, you'll be biting into layer upon layer of melty American cheese. If the thought of this gooey, deep-fried goodness is already putting you into a food coma, get ready for this: Whipping up a batch of crescent doughnuts only takes a couple of minutes as opposed to the original's three-day prep cycle. Click on to read the whole recipe, and be prepared to clear out some stomach real estate. (The Huffington Post)
