But, in her recent interview for PEOPLE, the actress really gets candid.
In the magazine's Best Dressed of 2014 issue (the one in which Taylor Swift was crowned best of the best), Lively reveals the fashion lessons she's learned in her post-Gossip Girl life in the spotlight. She’s discovered how to dress for her body type, which she's taken to mean avoiding all sorts of flowing, ‘60s-inspired pieces and drop-waist cuts. “If you don’t cinch in the waist, it looks like I’m just hiding, you know, animals? I just start to look like the cargo part of an airplane,” she explains. Somehow, we doubt that.
As for the source of Blake's unusual sartorial quirk, it's no Hollywood stylist. The decision to dress oneself may be rare among big-screen elite, but Lively says it's more about a love of fashion than considering herself an expert. "It’s such a passion of mine… It would be like making a cake and then handing it off to someone else to ice and decorate." Spoken like a true fashion foodie. She goes on to ask: “why would you do that?” And, we counter with: Is she the cake in this simile?
